If you sang this line, we will get along juuuuuust fine. Thanks so much for taking the time to visit! Allow me to introduce myself, and attempt to summarize what it is that I’m doing here in the Blogosphere. (Key word is attempt. Those of you who know me know that I tend to write short novels for e-mails and my voice mails more closely resemble Shakespearian soliloquies than “call me backs.”) Runs in the family. Alas, that is I. Who am I you ask? Kathy… a not so typical Photographer. Greeting card business enthusiast. Multi-passionate entrepreneur. Idea girl. Dreamer. Lover of life. Happy. Most days my brain is racing so fast with ideas and things I want to do, that I feel I’m too passionate for my own good. Who am I not? Perfectly organized. A fantastic housekeeper or gardener. My shoe collection would make Carrie Bradshaw cringe, and I get more excited about a good vintage score at Frenchy’s than I ever would about a Prada purse. Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate a fine set of heels like the next girl, but I just don't believe we have to spend the family fortune to look put together. I’m a pretty simple gal who believes there is a time and a place for everything. Including but not limited to: gummy bears, boxed wine, Zoodles, Mr. Noodles and occasionally (okay... very occasionally) Beefaroni. There, I said it, and frankly it feels quite good to get it off my chest. So it's no secret that I am fairly passionate, and put a lot of heart and soul into the things that inspire me. That means in business and in life because I feel like the two are really intertwined anyway - "How you do anything is how you do everything!" I believe that Confucius was right when he said "Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it". I have realized over time that I can't help but see beauty. It is a problem at times. (Forget texting and driving, one shouldn't be permitted to "see beauty", or potential photo session locations for that matter, while driving.) I digress. When beauty jumps out of the world at you, it is easy to become passionate about photography - for me, it is a way to relay to others the beauty that I see in my minds eye. Life is short, this we all know. We are meant to enjoy it, appreciating and celebrating those who are important to us, in this lifetime. This blog is an immediate outlet for me to express and humour myself (and those who stumble by) attach sneak peeks of the happenings here at Legacy Junction Studios, offer fun contests and specials, and chronicle what’s going on in my crazy world. Feel free to sniff around - just promise not to laugh at my wordiness, okay? I truly can't resist! If you know me, you KNOW that is true! (To thine own self be true, no?) Thanks so much for stopping by. I’m so humbled and flattered that you’ve visited and would love to know! You’re welcome and encouraged to leave comments, and say hello!

30 Day Gratitude Challenge  ::  Dare to be Transformed

Be the Change
you wish to See in the World.
                                                               - Gandhi

This ol' world of ours could use a tune up.  It seems that every time you turn on the tv these days, there's another news story
breaking about some horrendous occurrence.  It can be a little disheartening, to be honest.  A lot disheartening.  I'm tired of the
bullying.  People blowing up people.  Young people (or ANY person for that matter) committing suicide because they are in such excruciating pain that they feel the only way out is to take their own life.  THE WORLD NEEDS LOVE.  Wouldn't you agree?  This is something I have been extremely passionate about for years now, but sadly, I seem to be finding myself drawing this very conclusion
more and more frequently.  After the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting in Newtown, after the Aurora Colorado movie theatre
mass shooting, after the Boston Marathon Bombings, after the loss off Rehteah Parsons... the list goes on.  Each devastating tragedy serving as a sobering reminder just how badly the world needs it.  And the only way to give the world what it is longing for if you ask
me, is by changing ourselves.  Starting with you.  With me.  Day to day.  Moment to moment.  Person to person.  When I recently asked
my father for a few sentiments on the impact of taking a Gratitude Challenge himself (which you will hear more about as you keep
reading) he had a lot of touching things to say, and articulated it quite masterfully: "Changing me, changes you, changes everything."
I can't help but believe that the man knows what he's talking about.

There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.

                                                                                                                         - John Adams Holmes

I just want people to love each other more.
To know that who they are and what they do matters and makes a difference.

That they are worthy of being celebrated!
To open their eyes to the blessings and abundant beauty that surrounds them.

To strive to see the good in other people.  I want to believe that most people are inherently good.  How would the world change

for the better, if people put others at the forefront of their daily thoughts and actions?  If they not only looked for the good in people,

but intentionally and proactively celebrated it?  If they not only thought about the people around them who might be struggling, but
made a tangible effort to lighten their load, or brighten their day?  I wholeheartedly believe that if we all change ourselves, even a little,
the world follows suit.  There is a ripple effect.  A deep rooted pay it forward desire that blossoms in the very depths of a person's soul.
It's a beautiful place to arrive, and operate from.  Love is contagious.

The truth is this.  If you strive to see the good in people... to seek beauty, occasions and moments to celebrate, that is precisely
what you will find.  If you focus on anything other than that, that is surely what will be reflected, just the same.  It is through seeing, appreciating and celebrating the beauty that is all around, that you will attract an infinite abundance -- of all the things that truly matter -- into your own life.  I can't stop tragic events from occurring, or save the world; but I can help encourage a movement of love.  That I can do.  So can you, in fact.  The thing about love and kindness is pretty simple.  It perpetuates an ingenious cycle of more love
and kindness.  Not really rocket science.

"I am only one; but still I am one.
I cannot do everything;
but still I can do something;
and because I cannot do everything,
I will not refuse to do
the something that I can do."
                                                       - Edward Everett Hale

It is actually simple, although something we need to remind ourselves often.  I can't help but think that the world needs this.
I need this.  YOU need this.  It actually hurts my brain (in a very good way!) to think of the positive impact that this Gratitude
Challenge will have on the world when thousands of people commit to sending out positive words of encouragement, appreciation
and love - every single day.  The truth is, it's already happening.  And beautiful, amazing stories are unfolding by the second,
as a direct result.  Your words have more power than you know.

When you look back on your life, you will find that the moments you have truly lived are when you have done something in the spirit of love. Saint Maria Faustina said:  "I see now that my deeds which have flowed from love are more perfect than those which I have done out of fear."

The thing about life is, it is laden with ups and downs.  Absolutely NO ONE is exempt from the triumphs and tragedies.
There are moments of great beauty and celebration!  Birthdays, accomplishments, weddings, babies - a thousand reasons to celebrate.
Life is beautiful!  But at the same time, I think it is safe to say that many people are struggling.  With something.  Sometimes many
things.  Life IS a beautiful thing, but it's not always easy.  Relationships and marriages end.  People get sick.  They lose jobs.
They lose loved ones.  They lose hope. Sometimes in the frenzy of life, they even lose themselves.

"Vision is the worlds most desperate need.
There are no hopeless situations,
only people who think hopelessly."
- Unknown

What if there was a community... an ARMY of people, dedicated to lifting others on a daily basis?  Celebrating, encouraging
+ appreciating!  Would you want to be a part of that family?  I sure did!  Not only did I want to be a part of it, I wanted to build
my own enormous family of generous, caring, kind, thoughtful, positive, happy, loving people.  Because it inspires me.
Because those are the kinds of people I want to surround myself with.  Because I KNOW of the enormous power
here.  The power of just one person doing this gratitude challenge is incredible.  What about thousands and thousands of people?
Oh yes, beyond powerful - you better believe it.  It is absolutely the kind of world I wish to live in.

It is what the Gratitude Challenge is about.  It is exactly what we are creating.  A community of GIVERS.  People who care.
People who want more LOVE in the world.  People who understand that how you treat others is a direct reflection of how you see
yourself and that striving to see the good in others is the best way to live, grow, and become the absolute best version of YOU.

 “One of the most beautiful
compensations in life
is that no person can help another
without helping themselves."
                                                         - Ralph Waldo Emerson

So, you are intrigued.  You would like to learn more about the 30 Day Gratitude Challenge.
Here's what you need to know!

The basic premise is that you will be sending out at least ONE greeting card every single day for thirty days straight using the SendOutCards system.  (I am happy to help you get started if you aren't already familiar with SOC.  Or if someone invited you here,
I'm sure they would love to be of service!)  You will LOVE it.

Within about a year and a half, thousands of people have already embraced the Gratitude Challenge.
At the time of this writing, our SOC family has sent out well over 3,271,095 greeting cards with positive messages.
(This number is growing every second of every day.)

Watching This Video is a great place to start.
From there, you can visit my Website if you'd like to learn more.
But the truth is, you don't need the videos.  All you need is HEART.
Once we get you started using the system, it will be time to get creative!
Use photos.  Thoughtful messages and words.  Be innovative.
Speak from a deep place in your heart.  Be vulnerable.  Have fun.

                                                        Let the magic unfold.

There is a lot more to this than meets the eye.  The greeting cards are absolutely an integral part of it, but it's about
so much more.  It is difficult to articulate the power in taking this challenge.  It can and will change your life like
nothing else!  But the truth of the matter is, there is absolutely no way for you to grasp that until you simply commit to
taking the challenge.  Embrace it fully, putting careful consideration into your words.  I can not tell you exactly what will happen.
I can tell you that the challenge has the power to open doors.  To new opportunities.  New partnerships.  New friendships.
That it can change the way you think.  Feel.  Do business.  Even live.  It can renew broken relationships.  Heal.  Strengthen.  Unite.
It can truly change you if you let it, and I am not just saying that.

We are creating a community of people who believe that:

   Will you join us?
We have a whole lot of beautiful work to do.
   New online community coming soon!
