I love my awesome clients, especially repeat clients!!! While photo sessions technically are "work", I suppose, it is still an excuse for me to spend time with great people, and it never ceases to amaze me how quickly the children grow up. So here we are once again with this sweet family. Aren't little David and Alex so cute? I have to say that there is a hilarious common thread with most family sessions involving young children. They can be a little crazy at times. Kids will be kids, and they don't always do precisely what you (or their parents) want them to, when you want them to do it. This is a prime example. Not that the kids weren't awesome, because they were and they did everything I could have expected of them -- BE KIDS! Many parents feel a bit stressed, thinking that theirs must be the worst shoot ever for me, or that their kids aren't co-operating. NOT the case. They are all a bit bonkers, but it is okay! It is what I have come to expect. Amidst this photo frenzy, I'm sure poor Cindy was hoping with all her might for just one or two nice photos out of the mix. I often find myself reassuring clients (as was the case on this particular day) ... "Don't WORRY! Just have fun, go with it... I'm getting good shots despite what you might think!" In fact, a lot of the time, my favourite images are the very non-contrived, sometimes surprising moments that present themselves amidst the kerfuffle of everything. Not gonna lie though, sometimes I even find myself praying for a photo miracle... but some way, somehow, it all comes together in the end. A little patience and perseverance, (perhaps a dash of luck, an answered prayer... or bribery. I'm not above bribery!) and there always seem to be more than enough beauties in the mix. Enjoy.
